One of Colleton County School District’s highest priorities is building active and lasting ties between our schools and their communities. In order to build a strong base for an effective volunteer program and to continuously improve the learning environment for our students, CCSD is happy to announce the launch of the Dads on Duty and Moms on a Mission initiatives.

These initiatives are designed to make our schools safer and build community trust in our district through bringing fathers and mothers into our facilities for volunteer work. Participants in these initiatives will receive gang awareness training, learn about de-escalation strategies, and develop techniques to create a positive environment in our classrooms.

Volunteers must be able to pass a background check, adhere to our district’s dress code, be able to work on a rotating schedule, and participate in a variety of school tasks/activities to join.

CCSD will host an interest meeting for those interested in joining these programs on Tuesday, December 7, at the Colleton County School Board Room (500 Forest Circle, Walterboro), from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

For more information, please see our flyers or call Wesley McNeely or Deborah McDonald at (843) 782-4510.
