Parent and Family Engagement

One of the Colleton County School District's goals is to improve how we engage our families and community continually. Parent and family engagement is crucial to each child throughout his or her pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade experience. Colleton County Schools encourages parents and guardians to remain actively involved. When you are actively engaged in your child's education and well informed about how to achieve success, it positively affects your child's achievement.

Parent and family engagement is an ongoing process that increases active participation, communication, and collaboration between parents, schools, and communities to educate the whole child to ensure student achievement and success.  The research is clear that when schools and families support each other, students of all backgrounds and various abilities achieve at higher levels.

Therefore, the Parent & Family Engagement Team we employ, believe parents, guardians, schools, families, and communities who work together can create meaningful partnerships that ultimately lead to significant gains across the board in student achievement.
